BE THE MAN
a call to biblical masculinity

King David's final charge to Solomon, his son and successor, start with these stirring words,
"So be strong, act like a man..." (1 Kings 2:2)
It's a charge we would all do well to heed.
The question is, What is it to 'act like a man'?
Our problem is that we are bombarded with so many ideas of what being a 'man' is. Some of those ideas contradict each other, some are unappealing, and many seem like a burden.
Fortunately, God has given us the picture of true manhood in the Bible. And far from being a burden, it is liberation for us.
At this year's Perth Men's Convention, Martin Foord will direct our thinking to passages in God's word that will deepen our understanding of biblical masculinity, and spur us on to apply it to our lives.

About the speaker
Martin Ford lectures in systematic theology and church history at Trinity Theological College in Leederville. Before joining the college in 2000, he worked as a part time evangelist in Sydney, and was on the ministry team of a large church in Manly. Marty is passionate about the gospel as the organising principle for our lives, the church, and mission. When not at college he spends time chasing waves, cycling, listening to Bach, and drinking coffee with friends.
